What Is PRP(Platelet-Rich Plasma)?
There are a number of cosmetic techniques on the market. Some, like Botox, have become a household name. There are also cutting-edge techniques that many people do not yet know about but are gaining rapidly in popularity. One of these exciting new techniques is known as PRP therapy.
PRP therapy is a groundbreaking technique that involves the use of PRP, or platelet-rich plasma. This plasma is a part of your blood and is made up of proteins that aid your blood in clotting. Some of the proteins in the plasma are extremely effective in promoting and supporting healthy cell growth.
Thanks to amazing medical breakthroughs and development over the years, scientists have found a way to isolate the plasma cells from the blood and use them to form a concentrated substance: PRP.
For PRP therapy, a very small amount of blood is taken from the patient, typically around two teaspoons. After this step, the platelet-rich plasma is separated from the blood using a centrifuge. Because this substance comes directly from the patient, there is no risk of an allergic reaction from the treatment.
